You have the right to receive a \u201cGood Faith Estimate\u201d explaining how much your medical care will cost.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Under the law, beginning January 1, 2022, health care providers need to give patients who don\u2019t have insurance or who are not using insurance<\/strong> an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.<\/span><\/p>\n

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.<\/span><\/p>\n

Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.<\/span><\/p>\n

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.<\/span><\/p>\n

Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.<\/span><\/p>\n

Whether you are a new or current client of my practice, you will be sent a Good Faith Estimate. Your Good Faith Estimate will be created based on your treatment goals. The estimated cost may likely be overestimated in order to provide you the maximum amount of out-of-pocket expenses for treatment. If additional services are recommended, your Good Faith Estimate will be revised to reflect the change. The estimated costs are good for 12 months after the date of the Good Faith Estimate.<\/span><\/p>\n
