Fees & Forms
The relationship between you and your therapist is important. Having the support of a professional that you can feel comfortable with and supported by is essential to your change process. There are many counseling styles and therapeutic approaches. That is why I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation in order to give you the opportunity to talk with me briefly before beginning our work together. I will be glad to discuss your questions and goals and give you an idea of what our work together will include.
As a private pay practice, we do not participate directly with any insurance panels. Payment is due at the time of service. A limited number of reduced fee session slots are available. Contact us for more information.
Your time is valuable, and ours is too. Please note that when you make an appointment, you are holding the therapist’s time slot for meeting with you. Cancellations, reschedules, or no-shows within 24 hours of the appointment start time will result in full charge.
REASONS I CHOOSE NOT TO ACCEPT INSURANCE
Not working with insurance leads to enhanced quality of care and other advantages such as:
- You are in control of your care, including choosing your therapist, duration of treatment, frequency of sessions, etc.
- Increased privacy and confidentiality
- Not having a mental health disorder diagnosis on your medical record
- Consulting with me on non-psychiatric issues that are important to discuss but not billable by insurance such as learning how to cope with life changes, gaining more effective communication skills in your relationships, increasing personal insight, exploring ambivalence, and developing healthy coping.
Although I choose not to participate in any insurance panels directly, I am willing to provide you with the necessary paperwork for partial reimbursement of services if your insurance accepts out-of-network benefits. Contact your insurance company directly for reimbursement specifications. If do you choose to submit paperwork to your insurance to obtain reimbursement, please be aware that a written diagnosis is a requirement for coverage. It is also important to note that some diagnoses are not eligible for reimbursement.
